Job Description: Migration Consultant
Job Summary:
The Migration Consultant will be responsible for executing data migration activities
within our SAP R/3 environment, with a strong focus on using LSMW. This role involves
working closely with business users and IT teams to understand data requirements,
develop data migration strategies, and ensure the successful migration of data. The
Migration Consultant will be responsible for data cleansing, transformation, validation,
and reconciliation.
Responsibilities:
? Data Migration Execution:
? Develop and execute data migration plans using LSMW in SAP R/3.
? Perform data extraction, cleansing, transformation, and loading activities.
? Develop and maintain LSMW objects for data migration.
? Work with functional teams ( SD, MM, FI/CO) to understand data
requirements and ensure data accuracy.
? Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure data integrity.
? Troubleshoot data migration issues and provide solutions.
? Data Analysis and Mapping:
? Analyze source data and map it to the target SAP R/3 data structures.
? Develop data mapping specifications and transformation rules.
? Identify and resolve data quality issues.
? Documentation:
? Document data migration processes, including data mapping,
transformation rules, and validation results.
? Create and maintain documentation for LSMW objects.
? Collaboration and Communication:
? Collaborate with business users, IT teams, and other stakeholders.
? Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
? Participate in project meetings and provide status updates.
? Continuous Improvement:
? Identify opportunities to improve data migration processes and
methodologies.
? Stay up-to-date on the latest data migration trends and technologies.
Qualifications:
? Experience:
? 4-5 years of experience in SAP data migration projects.
? Strong hands-on experience with LSMW for data migration in SAP R/3.
? Experience with data cleansing, transformation, and validation techniques.
? Experience with master data migration (e.g., Customer, Vendor, Material)
and transactional data migration (e.g., Sales Orders, Purchase Orders).
? Experience with cross-module data migration (SD, MM, FI/CO, etc.).
? Skills:
? In-depth knowledge of SAP R/3 data structures and data migration
processes.
? Expertise in using LSMW for data migration.
? Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
? Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
? Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
? Education:
? Bachelor& 39 s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related
field.
? SAP certification is a plus.
