Job Role: Solution Delivery Engineer
Reports To (Job – Role): HEAD-TECHNICAL SOLUTION DELIVERY
Workplace Location : Chennai – ECC HQ
Minimum Qualification: B.E. or Diploma in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or similar field from
an accredited university with minimum 6 -10 years of relevant experience.
Experience: Solution Delivery Engineer will work on delivery of technical solutions around power
transmission & distribution – digital solutions for various customer projects. This role, will include
Application Engineering, Configuration, installation & commissioning of digital solutions in the area
of Renewable energy with Inverters, STATCOM, Power Plant controller (PPC), EMS. Digital
Substation, Microgrid SCADA, ADMS, Analytical and Monitoring Solutions, Remote Diagnostics,
Networking.
Objective/Purpose:
? To ensure success as a Solution Delivery Engineer, candidate should demonstrate
extensive experience in Power Plant controller (PPC),Battery Storage system, Hands-on
knowledge on different Protocol IEC 61850 , Modbus TCP/IP, IEC 104/101 ,DNP3 and
Substation Automation solutions (RTUs, IEDs).
? Renewable power, PV Plants, Battery storage systems,Power Plaant controller .
? Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining database systems like MS
SQL, Oracle, etc.
? Knowledge of Cyber security requirements & data protection for power utilities.
Roles and Responsibilities:
? Responsible for Application & System Engineering of L&T PT&D Digital Solutions for
the customer projects.
? Technical interface with site commissioning teams for digital solutions and application
issues and support for field changes
? Design, Installation, and readiness the integration of overall system at Platform for FAT
and testing.
? Organization of the Factory Acceptance Tests with Partners and Customers and
participation to these
? Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access
to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems.
? Work on the cyber security requirements from customers & propose solutions .
? Ready for Travelling to Customer Location.
Required Qualifications:
? Experience in working with Reputed OEMS of PPC, EMS/DMS , ADMS,HMI products and
control system , renewable power, PV Plants, Battery storage systems etc.
? Industrial knowledge of real-time systems, IP address management, knowledge of
industry standard communication protocols (Modbus, IEC101/104, IEC61850, DNP3.0)
and Networking, Control Center Architecture.
? Good experience and knowledge on design and detail engineering drawings like System
Architecture, IO list, design basis/ control philosophy of renewable power, PV Plants,
Battery storage systems, STATCOM etc.
? Experience configuring and installing substation networks (RTUs, IEDs) on different
protocols, SAS computers using both Windows as well as Linux environments.
? Good experience in design of IT network system and technical review and selection of
components of components (like Network switches, Server, firewall, GPS etc.).
? Domain knowledge of networking and various industrial communication protocols
(IEC61850, IEC101/104, Modbus, DNP3, OPC-UA etc.).
? Knowledge of electrical equipment design aspects and interfaces.
? Resolving queries and providing solutions related to feasibility & other aspects of design
for site execution and commissioning in coordination with solution design team.
? Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally (internal &
customer focused) up to 50% of the time
? Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
? Effective written and oral communication skills
? Disciplined, self-driven, can work independently without supervision; shows initiative
and is proactive.

? Secondary engineering for digital substation projects, Protection SLD, CT/VT Sizing.
? Knowledge of Protection devices configuration
? Understanding of RTS (Real-Time digital Simulation) skills.
? Working Experience on other control systems like GE, ABB, Schneider, Emerson etc.
? Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and
resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
Technical Expertise:
? Desire Required:
o Experience installing and maintaining software solutions like SCADA, EMS, DMS,
PPC,GIS.
o Sufficient knowledge developing scripts in Java, Python, or similar any other
programming language
o Expertise in configuring and maintaining systems integration components using
web services, industry standard protocols like Modbus, DNP, IEC61850 etc.
o Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining database systems like MS
SQL, Oracle etc.
