Position Purpose: - To lead administrator in Linux Server Management function.
Position Responsibilities: -
• Linux Server Management: Lead the management and administration of Linux servers,
ensuring their optimal performance, security, and availability.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of Linux server administrators,
providing guidance, support, and technical expertise.
• Server Installation and Configuration: Oversee the installation, configuration, and
maintenance of Linux server hardware and software.
• Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security measures and policies to
protect Linux server environments from threats and vulnerabilities. Ensure compliance
with industry best practices and standards.
• Patch Management: Develop and implement patch management strategies to keep
Linux servers up to date with security patches and updates.
• Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor server performance and proactively
identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and issues.
• Backup and Recovery: Design and implement robust backup and disaster recovery
solutions for Linux servers to minimize downtime and data loss.
• Automation: Utilize scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, Ansible) to streamline
server management tasks and improve efficiency.
• Capacity Planning: Plan for future infrastructure needs by assessing capacity
requirements and making recommendations for scaling server resources.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of server configurations, procedures,
and policies.
Qualifications and Experience Requirement: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Threshold Competencies: -
• Proven experience in leading Linux server teams.
• Strong expertise in Linux server operating systems (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat).
• Proficiency in server virtualization technologies (e.g., KVM, VMware).
• Excellent knowledge of server hardware, storage, and networking concepts.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex server issues.
• Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible).
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Relevant certifications such as RHCE, CompTIA Linux+, or equivalent
Leadership Competencies: -
• Proven experience in leading Linux server teams.
• IT experience in Banking in industry is beneficial.
